Halloween!

Yesterday was Halloween? Boo!

There's a corn maze in the area, about 30 minute drive up from here. For Halloween, they touched up the maze into a Haunted Trail! It was pretty fun, especially watching my friend get completely spooked out everytime one of the ghosts and ghouls popped out of nowhere from the deeps of the corn. You can find out more about the maze at www.mckeemaze.com!

Unfortunately no pictures. I was too busy laughing and getting spooked.

By the way, here's something that's interesting. Does a duck's quack echo?

Right now I am busy testing the microwave/rf generators for our quantum dot gate pulsing. We need to make sure that we can maintain the pulse form sent down to the sample with minimal distortion, reflection, attenuation and loss. This is made particularly difficult due to the size of our metal gates (which I made), on the order of 100 nm or less in width and less than 20 nm in thickness. S...
